Description
Dream mayens with spectacular views
The Val d'Anniviers and its 220 km of ski runs - often described as the most beautiful valley in the Valais Alps, situated between the Matterhorn and Verbier - boasts the longest ski seasons as well as the best sunshine in the region.
In summer, there are 320 km of magnificent hiking trails to be explored while admiring peaks over 4000m, mountain bike trails, high-mountain races, paragliding, bungee jumping, via ferrata, swimming pools, wellness, and numerous restaurants offering local gastronomy.
Ayer is one of those villages breathing the authentic charm of the Val d'Anniviers. A few minutes by car or post bus is all it takes to reach one of the valley's resorts: Grimentz-Zinal (with 120 km of pistes culminating at 2900 meters and numerous freeride zones), Saint-Luc, Chandolin and Vercorin. Sierre is 20 minutes away and Sion 30 minutes. The view is magnificent: snow-capped peaks, alpine pastures and picturesque villages.
This village stands out for its "postcard" aesthetic thanks to the remarkable preservation of its architectural heritage.
The mayens "Les Déjerts" is an enchanting place located in one of the most beautiful regions of the Val d'Anniviers on the road to the Nava alp.
It is well known to locals and hikers alike, as it once housed a refreshment bar and guest rooms. It consists of 3 small mayens built of old logs and local stone, a cellar, a henhouse and an underground technical room. It is situated along a quiet alpine road, and offers spectacular views of the valley and peaks.
It is composed as follows:
Chalet 1
Chalet 2
Chalet 3
Exterior
Particularities
The mayens are entirely self-sufficient for drinking water supply, electricity and heating.

Particularities
The mayens are entirely self-sufficient for drinking water supply, electricity and heating.
- Water supply from an underground spring with reservoir
- Electricity generated by a year-round hydro-electric turbine
- Electric heating and wood-burning stoves
- As they are located in an agricultural zone, the mayens cannot be enlarged.
Access
- Access from the Ayer-St-Luc road via an unpaved alpine road
- In winter, only access on foot, snowshoes, sealskin or tracked vehicle is possible.
- The road is not cleared of snow and access by car is impossible from the end of November until the end of April/beginning of May.
- As these mayens are located in agricultural areas, financial institutions outside the canton of Valais are generally reluctant to grant finance.
- It is possible to obtain finance from a Valais bank. However, the equity requirement is generally higher than for a property located in a tourist/buildable area.
- For these reasons, a positive financing notice or confirmation of the financial capacity to acquire the property is required before any visit.
